Seniors FAQ

Q: Do I have to use the school photographer for my senior pictures?

A: Of course not. Most schools have a retailer for yearbook pictures. For the yearbook picture, you must go to the contracted retailer. However, you are free to go with any photographer for your REAL senior shoot. Give us a call and let’s talk about how we can make yours special.

Q: How do I prepare for a photo session?

A: For all of our sessions, we do an in-person consultation to discuss your likes and dislikes, learn a bunch about you and go over all of the details of preparation for your photoshoot. After the consultation, you will know EXACTLY what to do and expect.

Q: Do you only do senior photo shoots?

A: Our specialty is senior photography due to our love of working with these young people; however, we are available for other session needs. Honestly, how long has it been since you’ve had family pictures taken?

Q: What camera and equipment do you use (for the gear heads)?

A: I’m a Nikon guy. I have a D800 as my primary camera with a D700 for backup. I have the following lenses – 50mm f1.4, 24-70 f2.8, 70-200 f2.8. My next lens will be the 85mm f1.4 (can’t wait!). I have a variety of lighting gear, which I use for creating mood and supplementing light with off-camera flashes.

Q: Do you sell digital files from your sessions?

A: Yes, we have several high-resolution digital packages available and all print purchases come with a watermarked low-resolution digital version of each picture. Not sure what that means? I’d be happy to explain.

Q: Are you available for wedding photography?

A: Yes, we are just starting our wedding photography. We would love to have the opportunity to talk to you about your special day to see if we are a match for your photography needs.

Q: When do I pay and what payment methods do you accept?

A: The session fee is due at the time of booking your session. Your fee is what puts you on the calendar. For product orders, ½ of the total is due at the time of the order and the remainder when you pick up the goodies. We accept check, cash, or credit card

Q: How soon do I get to see my pictures after our shoot?

A: Typically, the viewing and ordering session will be about 2 weeks after your shoot. I will be in touch within about a week after your session to compare calendars and find a date for the viewing. If you have a deadline, please make sure I am aware of that when we schedule your session.

Q: How long will it take to get my order?

A: Most products are ready within 10 days. Some products like canvas or albums will take a bit longer.

Q: How long will you keep my photos?

A: All pictures that are ordered are archived for life. If you were to ever lose your photos due to a disaster, I will be able to get them from off-site archive for reprint purposes.

Q: I’m convinced, what do I do now?

A: Give me a call or shoot me an e-mail. I would love to talk to you about a session and any ideas that you have.
